HAIR BY PAULA

Careful work. A personal plan.
Hair that feels like you.

I’m located at Salons by JC in Meridian, Idaho, and welcome clients from Boise, Eagle, and throughout the Treasure Valley.

THE HAIR BY PAULA APPROACH

A thoughtful approach, from consultation to finish.

1 · Use professional hair care

Choose professional, sulfate- and paraben-free products. Use a leave-in conditioner and a weekly mask when your hair needs extra care. Apply heat protectant before using hot tools.

2 · Add a lightweight serum

A lightweight, clear serum or oil can help keep hair soft and manageable. Avoid tinted oils, which may transfer color onto lighter extension hair.

3 · Prep before swimming

Rinse hair with tap water first, then apply conditioner. After swimming, rinse again and secure hair in a loose braid. Ask me which sunscreen ingredients are best around your extension hair.

4 · Dry after sweating

After the gym, steam room, sauna, or other humid activity, dry your extensions promptly. Pay attention to the weft area so it doesn’t stay damp.

5 · Protect hair while you sleep

Never go to bed with wet hair. Secure dry hair in a loose top knot or braid, and consider a silk pillowcase to help reduce friction.

6 · Don’t brush over the top of the weft

Avoid brushing directly over the stitched top of the weft. Brush the hair below it carefully to help prevent matting and shedding.

7 · Support the weft while styling

Use a soft brush and support the weft and corners as you dry or style. Use heat protectant and gentle tension.

8 · Separate rows when brushing

Part the hair by row when brushing, shampooing, and blow-drying. This helps prevent unnecessary pulling on the wefts.

9 · Choose ponytails that feel comfortable

Avoid pulling hair tightly into a middle-back ponytail. A low ponytail or a comfortably high ponytail can help reduce tension at the front of the extensions.
